On November 11, the Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC) updated its Investor Alert List, in which the warned entities include InstaTrade and InstaForex.
InstaForex is a well-known global Forex and CFDs broker with a large number of retail clients.
However, apart from the names of the broker, the regulator did not present other details of it, such as the website and address.
Five other financial entities and one potential clone entity were also warned. These financial service providers may be providing services to Malaysian investors without being regulated by the SC.
According to the regulator, the list “serves as a guide to investors before making any investment decisions”.
To protect local investors, the Malaysian financial regulator periodically updates its warning list for the public’s reference.
Previously, many businesses and individuals offering unauthorized financial services have been warned, not only financial companies regulated in other jurisdictions but also scammers offering fraudulent investment schemes on social media platforms.
