NZ FMA Sounds the Alarm on Emerging Suspected Financial Trading Scams

The Financial Markets Authority of New Zealand (NZ FMA) issued warnings over new suspected investment scams. The FMA recommended caution when dealing with BullhoodExchanges and Capital Wealth Assets and their websites due to concerns that the two entities may be engaged in fraud.

NZ FMA was aware of an individual who has invested with BullhoodExchanges and is now unable to withdraw funds, with additional fees being requested before withdrawals are allowed. This victim was led to BullhoodExchanges after seeing it promoted by members of a private social media group.  

The FMA recommended extreme vigilance when engaging with social media groups where investment opportunities are promoted. 

According to the New Zealand regulator, Capital Wealth Assets offers investment products and services without authorization, and falsely claims to be registered and based in New Zealand when this is not the case. The company registration number displayed on its website is not valid.
