The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has issued a new public warning following a resurgence in phishing scams involving the impersonation of OneMotoring, the Land Transport Authority (LTA)’s official online portal. Since December 2024, the Police have received at least 37 reports, with victims collectively losing at least S$407,000.
Fraudsters send deceptive text messages claiming to be from OneMotoring, notifying victims about supposed unpaid bills. These messages contain an embedded link leading to a fake payment website impersonating OneMotoring. Victims are then tricked into entering personal details, credit or debit card information, and other sensitive data, only realizing they’ve been scammed upon discovering unauthorized transactions on their accounts.
The LTA has emphasized that legitimate road tax notifications never include direct payment links to OneMotoring or other payment portals. Instead, official notifications are sent via:
