Swissquote Appoints Nestor Verrier as Next COO

On September 27th, Swissquote, Switzerland's market leader in online banking, announced the appointment of Nestor Verrier as its next Chief Operating Officer (COO), replacing the current COO, Lino Finini, who will retire at year-end 2023. Verrier will hold the role on January 1, 2024.

Nestor Verrier has been working at Swissquote Bank Europe as General Manager since 2019, based in Luxembourg. With experience in the international banking sector for 20 years, Verrier assumed multiple leadership roles involving operations, IT development, and security analysis.

Verrier was educated at the Université de Technologie of Belfort-Montbéliard and the Université de Lorraine (UFR Mathématiques, Informatique et Mécanique) in Metz and graduated with a Master's Degree in Management and Information Technologies from the latter.

Swissquote CEO Marc Bürki commented: "We are pleased to welcome Nestor as our new COO from January 2024. He is highly valued by our team for his leadership work. With his international and technologically oriented background, he was the natural successor of our COO, who will retire at the end of the year."

Nestor Verrier will take up the position of Lino Finini, who has served in various leadership roles at Swissquote since 2001 and has held the role of COO since 2019. Lino Finini is stepping down to retire on December 31, 2023.

"Swissquote would not be where it is today without Lino's insightful, resolved leadership and many successful initiatives. We wish him the best for the next chapter in his life," said Marc Bürki.

Last month, the banking giant unveiled its financial results for the first half of 2023, registering record-high net revenues of CHF 265.6 million and client assets of CHF 56.9 billion.
