To raise public awareness of scam prevention, the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) introduced its anti-scam mascot this week, “Canny” the chameleon, which aims to alert people to scam through visual reminders.
Canny, the anti-scam mascot, was unveiled on Nov. 6 at the Singapore FinTech Festival at Singapore Expo.
Canny appears as a chameleon, and its name emphasizes the importance for people to remain shrewd and exercise sound judgment when dealing with scams.
To enhance the impression of Canny on anti-scam efforts, the ABS will launch a six-month online campaign on its website and social media platforms. And its member banks will also include Canny in their anti-scam efforts.
The association plans to produce T-shirts, fridge magnets, grocery bags, and plush toys with the image of Canny, as well as online stickers, animated GIFs and videos.
Besides, ABS has also partnered with ACT3 Theatrics to bring anti-scam skits to primary and secondary schools, aiming to enhance youth anti-scam education.Aming to
