As a self-regulated entity, INE discharges its duties pursuant to the Company Law, the Regulations on the Administration of Futures Trading and relevant rules and regulations prescribed by the CSRC.
Business Scope
The scope of business includes organizing and arranging the listing, trading, settlement and delivery of energy derivatives such as crude oil, natural gas, and petrochemical products, formulating business management rules, implementing self-regulatory management, publishing market information, and providing technology, venues and facility services.
Aims
Based on the principles of “openness, fairness and impartiality”, INE is devoted to establishing a global trading platform for energy derivatives that is “internationalized, market-oriented, ruled by law and professionalized” to objectively reflect the energy supply-demand conditions, provide a tool in price discovery, risk management and asset management for energy producers, distributors, consumers and investors, so as to facilitate the optimal allocation of energy resources and promote the economic development.

The INE does not regulate foreign exchange but futures constract.

The detailed steps are as below:
1. Enter the INE' s official website http://www.ine.cn/en/, click into "Member and Overseas Special Participants" from "Guideline" on the main menu;
2. Click into the Member & Overseas Special Participant List or the Overseas Intermediary List to check detailed information of the corresponding companies;
The INE has no rules on complaints, so investors had better contact the financial company that provides the service.
However, the INE has formulated a compensation mechanism for the margin loss of investors. Details are as follows:
The Futures Investor Protection Fund (hereinafter referred to as the protection fund) is a special fund that compensates investors for margin losses when a futures company's serious violation of laws and regulations or inadequate risk control result in a margin gap, which may seriously endanger social stability and the security of the futures market.
The compensation for the futures investor' s margin losses shall be conducted in accordance with the following principles:
(1) For individual investors, the margin less than 100,000 yuan (including 100,000 yuan) shall be fully compensated, and the part exceeding 100,000 yuan shall be compensated at 90%;
(2) For institutional investors, the margin loss less than 100,000 yuan (including 100,000 yuan) shall be fully compensated, and the part exceeding 100,000 yuan shall be compensated at 80%.
