Australian Financial Regulator Looking for Investment Scam Website Removal Service Provider

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) is conducting a global tender to find service providers that can identify, remove and provide intelligence on investment scam and phishing websites.

Specifically, ASIC wants a vendor to help identify and remove various fraudulent websites, email domains, applications and online videos that could harm to Australian financial consumers.

In addition, ASIC needs vendors to provide website takedown information to alert the public to new investment scam trends, as well as government officials and agencies impersonation.

The tender process will close at 9:59 a.m. AEDT on Oct. 14, and interested vendors can apply through AusTender. ASIC's contract with the current service provider expires in June 2025.

As the country's financial services regulator, ASIC has shut down more than 7,300 phishing and investment scam websites since July 2023, stopping scams and protecting Australians from financial loss, contributing to the Australian government's Fighting Scams initiative, as well as the work of the National Anti-Scam Center (NASC).
