CME Group Reports Record ADVs and FX ADV Surge in June and Q2 2024
CME Group, the world's leading derivatives marketplace, released its June and Q2 2024 market statistics on July 1. CME reported a record 25.3 million contracts of average daily volume (ADV) for the month, up 8% year-over-year (YoY), and a record 26 million contracts of ADV for Q2 with growth in all asset classes.
In June 2024, CME’s forex ADV was 1.4 million contracts, a significant increase of 25% compared to June 2023. Forex ADV for Q2 was 1.1 million contracts, a rise of 20% compared to Q2 2023.
International ADV also saw growth on a YoY basis. 8.1 million contracts were recorded in the metric for June, increasing by 19%, with EMEA ADV up 27% to 5.8 million contracts. International ADV for Q2 reached a record 7.8 million contracts, including a record EMEA ADV of 6.2 million contracts.
