CME Group, the world's leading derivatives marketplace, has reported its market statistics for November 2024, achieving the highest November average daily volume (ADV) on record at 30.2 million contracts, a 7% increase from November 2023.
CME Group set a record November Interest Rate ADV, reaching 17.5 million contracts, and a record November Foreign Exchange ADV of 1 million contracts. Equity Index ADV for November 2024 amounted to 6.4 million contracts.
Compared to November 2023, Interest Rate ADV rose by 4%, Equity Index ADV increased by 6%, and Foreign Exchange ADV also saw a 6% increase.
Micro FX futures ADV saw a 13% rise to 56,000 contracts, while Brazilian Real futures ADV surged by 56% to 30,000 contracts. On different platforms, EBS's Spot FX average daily notional value (ADNV) increased by 26% to $70.8 billion, and FX Link's ADV soared by 119% to 42,000 contracts, equivalent to $3.9 billion in notional value.
The Group also reported a record monthly International ADV of 9.3 million contracts, with a record EMEA ADV of 7 million contracts, Asia ADV of 2 million contracts, and Latin America ADV of 166,000 contracts.
