Jersey Police Publishes Anti-Scam Booklet for Fraud Awareness Week

Jersey Police have published a local version of the 'Little Book of Big Scams' for Fraud Awareness Week, giving people information on common types of scams and advice on how to prevent them.

The guide covered a wide range of scam types, including cybercrime, and offered practical advice on how to reduce the risk of being scammed.

The police said that people don't need to be “computer experts” to avoid scams and that chances of becoming a victim could be reduced to stay safe online by practicing good Internet and communication habits.

In the cases of scams investigated by the police, in fact, most scams could be avoided by slightly changing your behavior.

In addition to types of scams and fraud prevention advice, the booklet included contact for local police and organizations that provide help and support to scam victims.
