IG Group Appoints Matthew Davidson as CEO of IG Australia

Matthew Davidson has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of IG Australia, the Australian and New Zealand arm of IG Group.

After graduating from the University of Birmingham, Davidson has spent his entire career with IG Group and has been with the business for 18 years now. During this time, he has been widely recognized for his capabilities in electronic trading, securities, CFDs, options, currency pairs and other businesses.

In 2005, he joined IG Group as a sales trader in London. Through unwavering dedication, he was promoted to Deputy Head of Futures and FX in May 2012 and moved from the UK to Australia seven months later to become Regional Head of Dealing. In July 2017, the Group appointed Davidson as Head of Accounts for the Australian region. Davidson served as Commercial Director at the branch from August 2019 until the new announcement of the appointment.

Last month, IG Group announced several senior appointments, including Isaac Poore, Chief Financial Officer, and Jordan von Kluck, Chief Technology Officer for North America.
