RBZ Warns Public of Fake Investment Platform CryptCandor Promoted via AI-Generated Video

2025-03-27 BrokersView

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has issued a public scam alert, warning against a fraudulent article and AI-generated video promoting the so-called investment platform CryptCandor. The article titled “The truth is coming out! Government admits it hid this Revolutionary Platform where 99 out of 100 investors are already earning more than $4,000! Now available to everyone!” falsely purports that CryptCandor is a legitimate platform.

The RBZ’s alert, dated March 24, 2025, cautions the public not to believe claims of guaranteed quick high returns allegedly tied to the platform. In addition, the RBZ emphasized that the article and video falsely quotes the RBZ Governor and other officials, giving the impression of legitimacy.

The RBZ stated that the claims are entirely unfounded and urged the public to remain extremely vigilant against such “get rich quick schemes” often deployed by fraudsters.

To help avoid potential investment scams, the RBZ advised the public to watch for these red flags:

  • A financial service provider who is not registered or regulated but invites investments.
  • Investment plans that primarily operate on social media platforms with little to no physical visibility in the form of permanent offices.
  • Promises of super profits or returns that are unrealistic to achieve through known legitimate economic and financial activities.
