Tickmill Signs Brand Ambassador Deal with Cricket Star Jonty Rhodes

The Forex & CFDs broker Tickmill has signed Jonty Rhodes, a South African cricket star, as its brand ambassador, once again strategizing to target sports fans.

"With precision and strategy as his forte, Jonty will now empower Tickmill traders. Get ready for an empowering trading experience," Tickmill wrote in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday.

However, the retail broker did not reveal any details of the deal with Rhodes. It is not clear how long the former cricketer will be the representative of the broker.

Rhodes, 54, played for the South African national cricket team from 1992 to 2003. He was known for his outstanding fielding displays during games, especially for his dives to stop the ball. After his retirement, he continued his association with the game as a fielding coach for several domestic league teams in India and South Africa.

He is also active on social media with 430.7K and 256K followers on Twitter and Instagram respectively. Any promotion of Tickmill on his social media will put the brokerage brand in front of thousands of cricket fans.

Meanwhile, the partnership with Rhodes is not Tickmill's first sports deal. Last year, as part of its corporate social responsibility effort, the broker partnered with the Swiss football club Zug 94.

In addition to Tickmill, many other brokers have signed deals with sports personalities to act as their ambassadors. Over the years, XTB has signed deals with a number of sports celebrities such as Conor McGregor, Iker Casillas, and José Mourinho. Avatrade has also signed the fastest athlete on the track, Usain Bolt.
