The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) has issued a new alert, warning investors to remain vigilant against scammers impersonating A.G.P. Canada Investments ULC. The latest impersonation involves a fraudulent website, gpcalliancepro.com, falsely claiming to represent the CIRO-regulated firm. Investors are reminded that the legitimate website for A.G.P. Canada Investments ULC is alliancegcanada.ca.
The CIRO warned of similar fraudulent websites earlier this year, including the fraudulent domain alliancegcanada.com, which has since been blocked. At the time, the CIRO also warned that fraudsters use fake email addresses and phone numbers to solicit funds, often posing as representatives of A.G.P. Canada Investments ULC to defraud unsuspecting victims.
Despite previous warnings, scammers continue to refine their tactics. They are now operating under the name "Andy Gardiner" and using the contact details 483-619-1463 and andy.gardiner@gpcalliancepro.com to target investors. To enhance their credibility, the fraudsters have even exploited a link to CIRO’s website for A.G.P. Canada Investments ULC.
CIRO urges all investors to independently verify the authenticity of any communication claiming to be from A.G.P. Canada Investments ULC by directly contacting the firm through its official website.
