Sam Eder Leaves OANDA to Co-found marketmates.com

Sam Eder has resigned from his position as Head of Emerging Markets at OANDA, a prominent online broker, and became the cofounder of marketmates.com, a new trading services-focused website.

Eder has approximately 15 years of experience in the FX and CFD industry. His new role as CEO & Co-Founder at marketmates.com was announced on February 1, 2024.

It's worth noting that this isn't Eder's first venture. In September 2014, he partnered with Mike Collins to acquire FX Renew, a provider of forex trading signals from Ex Bank and Hedge Fund traders. However, the business ultimately ended in May 2019.

Eder's tenure at OANDA is the longest period of his career. He joined the broker in May 2016, initially as Head of Sales for the Asia Pacific region, then in roles such as Growth Manager of Emerging Markets and, most recently, Head of Emerging Markets. Before joining OANDA, Eder also held leadership roles in sales and client service at financial services firms such as Invast Securities and GFT Markets.
